Senior Marketing Associate
Penn Capital is seeking a creative marketing professional (5-10 years’ experience) with a preferred background in the financial services/asset management industry along with the talent and desire to take on projects both small and large, from development to completion, while managing and effectively contributing to day-to-day marketing functions. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and people skills, that can work independently and work well with others toward common goals.
The scope of responsibilities includes overseeing the creation, management, and updating of marketing content and collateral, including presentation materials, factsheets, and value-add content. Work with portfolio managers and research analysts to effectively communicate the firm’s investment capabilities for both institutional and retail/intermediately markets. The printing and binding of presentation materials is part of this position, especially during heavy client review periods.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with the firm’s public relations interactions (press releases, media appearances, etc.) and management of the design and content updates for the firm’s website.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years’ professional experience, preferably in the asset management or financial services industry
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills required with a focus on PowerPoint and Excel
- Demonstrable ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
- Experience with RFP/RFI/DDQ
- Ability to manage and perhaps lead multiple projects and priorities and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision
- Ability to work with portfolio managers and other team members to develop and create marketing collateral and content for distribution
- Must have a working knowledge of the asset management industry regulatory requirements, dealing with FINRA, and internal compliance requirements as it pertains to publishing content to the public
Systems Knowledge and Experience
- Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop a plus
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg, Advent APX Portfolio Accounting System, eVestment Omni, FactSet, and Seismic Software are a plus
Regional Sales Director - RIA Channel
Penn Capital is seeking a Regional Sales Director to focus on selling the Penn Capital Mutual Funds to the RIA channel. Penn Capital offers five institutional mutual funds in equity and credit income strategies. We currently have key platform access through the major RIA platforms. This position will involve extensive travel within its territory. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of the high yield and fixed income markets. CIMA, CAIA, CFA or CFP designations are a plus.
Qualifications
- Self-starter with excellent industry knowledge and product knowledge of the capital markets
- Extensive knowledge of high yield and fixed income asset classes
- In place client base and the ability to conduct 20-30 meetings per month
- Demonstrable history of raising assets for funds with short track records
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce.com or other CRM systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products and strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA preferred.
- FINRA Series 6 or 7 license required, with the Series 7/63 preferred, as Penn Capital offers private fund vehicles
- CIMA, CFP, CAIA, ChFC, CFA a plus
